Travels and Adventures

RT 5-2015 313-LP

Two weeks ago, She Who Must Be Obeyed and I set off on a cross-country adventure. The occasion for the trip was a son’s graduation from Seminary in Lincoln, Illinois. After that, we traveled to southwest Wisconsin to pick up her sister and brother-in-law to bring them back here with us; they had never been to Washington, DC. On the way back, we took an extra day on the road to visit the USAF museum in Dayton, Ohio, and Appomattox Court House, Virginia, and then Monticello near Charlottesville before returning “home” to Alexandria. Of course over the next few days we made several trips into Washington to see the sights, including a visit at dawn on Saturday morning to see the memorials before the holiday crowds descended upon them (I recommend this highly, by the way!).

On Sunday morning, I had to preach nearby to fill in for a preacher who had a graduation that weekend out-of-town, and then we headed off to Pennsylvania and York and Gettysburg. I had never walked around downtown York before; what a cool place that is!

In the process, I haven’t been posting much, and I’ve been slow responding to comments, and I appreciate your patience with that, but as of today, I’m back and ready for action. Since we just wrapped up Galatians, it’s time for a new book to go through, so I’d better get busy writing up our new adventure, this time through Romans. Those posts will begin tomorrow morning, right here at 6 am Eastern; see you then!

Sounds like you had a wonderful time. I giggle at you calling your wife “she who must be obeyed”. Quite the title! I, along with many others I am sure, am curious about how she got that title. Lol

Well, just between you and me… and don’t tell anybody… she got the title which comes from an old British TV show, when she insisted on moving to the DC area so she could take a position at the Pentagon 🙂
