I’ve been a little remiss lately with the photo of the week, but among other things, I’ve been out getting new pictures to fill this spot, including the one above that I shot last Wednesday while visiting Mr. Jefferson’s beautiful home. I should have enough new pictures to keep going for quite some time now.
I thought that this was Monticello as soon as I saw it. I live fairly close to Monticello, but I haven’t had a chance to visit yet.
This was my third time; worth the visit.
I’m looking forward to the study.
Don I am discouraged that I don’t see the church growing spiritually. I’ve been in churches where the pastor has been Dynamic in his delivery. But is sadly lacking in teaching Bible doctrine. I’ve studied by electronic means or buy books learn the things that I was yearning to know. The very things that teach us how we grow spiritually and strong in the word. I look forward to your comments.
Meredith, I share your frustration. There are some great churches out there that are experiencing amazing growth spiritually, but they are the minority. If the truth were really to be told, I think most of us don’t want spiritual growth, preferring instead form over substance because it is more comfortable. In interviewing for preaching jobs, I’ve noticed that the churches want to grow in numbers, but the spiritual growth part seems to scare them…
Disheartening to know so many can sway a pastor. Many are looking for something, hop from church to church. I think they’re looking for authority.
You may well be right about that.
Beautiful photo and home, Don!!
