Looking Up

How often do you look up?

If you think about it, we look around and we look down, but we seldom look up.  I wonder what we’re missing in the process.  Are there UFO’s buzzing around up there?  Who’d notice?

OK, maybe that’s not the best example, but you get the idea I’m sure…

I wonder how often all of us don’t notice a lot of things because we aren’t looking up…

Looking up can mean more than one thing for it doesn’t need to be understood in a literal sense, it could also be understood in a spiritual sense.  If we don’t look up from time to time, it’s pretty easy to get bogged down in this world.  We might even forget where we are supposed to be headed or who it is that we serve.

Maybe if we looked up more often we might avoid some of the mistakes that set us back in our walk with Jesus Christ, and maybe if we glanced up at the trees above our heads we might discover who’s watching us from up there.

This is the second “look up” blog and the second “same thought” I had today! As He is everywhere – down, up, left, right – as well as behind – do we see Him no matter which direction we are peering? 🙂

  3. I’m constantly looking up as I love the sun, clouds, moon, sunrise, sunset and taking pics of all of it. Also looking up thanking God and sweet Jesus for so much beauty in life.

This morning we had a beautiful blue sky, warm sun and the cries of the European Buzzard could be heard but not until I suggested that people looked up did they realise there were 5 Buzzards circling, they could hear at least 6 or 7 distinct bird calls and the colour of sky created a beautiful back drop.

You know from that point the tone of the conversation also began to pick up.

Raise the eyes, raise the countenance and raise the tone, we are surrounded by beauty but we need to take a moment every now and then to look up…

    Appreciated the reminder – thanks

  5. I look up too much I trip and fall’ stroke made it necessary to make sure where my feet are landing!

As a birdwatcher, I look up often. As a Christian, I try to look up to my Savior as often as I can.
