There are some things in life that are completely quiet and solitary, and then there are things that are naturally meant to be shared. When you experience something genuinely wonderful, your first instinct is usually to turn to someone nearby and say, “Look at that!”
Praising God works in a very similar way. When we take a moment to really think about who God is and what He has done for us, our hearts shift from quiet reflection into actual celebration.
Psalm 34 captured this wonderful, contagious urge to share God’s goodness:
“I will extol the Lord at all times; his praise will always be on my lips. I will glory in the Lord; let the afflicted hear and rejoice. Glorify the Lord with me; let us exalt his name together.”
Psalm 34:1-3
We don’t use a word like “extol” very often in everyday conversation—it basically means to praise enthusiastically. And let’s be honest, our ordinary routines don’t always feel like they warrant cheering out loud.
Yet when we make a deliberate habit of turning our worries into worship, something incredible happens. Our heavy loads start to lighten, our perspective shifts, and that enthusiasm becomes an encouragement not just for us, but for everyone around us who might be fighting their own quiet battles.
Who in your circle today could use an encouraging word or a reminder of God’s goodness to brighten their outlook?
