I think that sentiment would apply no matter which Nation you may call home.

  1. America has become arrogant. We think a person cannot have a “better life” unless they come here. That’s one reason so many other countries resent us. All nations have some good in them.

    • So why the illegal immigration problem? We aren’t advertising for people to inundate our border states yet there they are. Some people DO want a better life than they have in their home country. Others bring children by force to traffic them as cheap labor or sex slaves. Others just want to nurse on the welfare goodies America offers its citizens.

I’ve never understood the ‘resent America’ concern. Why should any country’s citizens care what other nations think of it? That’s junior high school thinking. France ought to concern itself with France, Russia w Russia and so on. The answer usually centers around the ‘foreign aid’ money the US splashes around the world for no good reason. Plenty of countries complain about the US but don’t mind the $$$ it sends their ways.

Indeed. Granted it has gone nutzoid, I heard our forefathers wanted a healthy exchange of different views.

While here, Maher replied last night to the articles about him. Some language but this is HBO.
