How is your new year going so far?

Having nearly completed the first week of a new year, and taking a quick look at the news it would seem that the world is frantic about the debate between Mr. Trump and Mr. Kim about whose is bigger. The big news out of Washington is the latest kiss and tell book of intrigues and gossip… and that January is a cold month, due to Global Warming.

Nothing much has changed… but then what would we expect?

That’s the state of the tired old world we live in, but it needn’t be the we live, for we are called to a higher purpose. I don’t say this to mean that we are somehow better than our neighbor− we aren’t. Yet we have a hope that is not of this world and our citizenship is in Heaven, and our standard is love. We need not indulge ourselves in the nonsense that surrounds us; instead we can shine the light of His Word into the darkness. We can be the shining beacons of His love to those around us, we can bring hope to those who need it− yes, opportunity knocks.

So… how is your new year going so far?

  1. Tom says:

It is going good as long as I keep in mind that God is control and neither I or others in this world are. If I lose this focus then it is not going very well. I know in Christ Jesus it will be a great year! Many opportunities for God to help and guide.

  2. Deb says:

We can be the Living Bridge…indeed..Namaste’

  3. Mel Wild says:

My new year is going great so far. I don’t watch the soap opera (news). 🙂

  4. Brynn Sauer says:

    Very inspiring words! 🙂

  5. So far, so cold. 😉 Aside from the temps I have a Jeep that has no heat. Ah, the joys of this world.

It has been a good year, thus far, but I have a hard time imagining a year worse than last. Continuing heath issues, loss of a child, and the most stressful work year ever as a company we “acquired” took over our department. But, with 5 more days to work until retirement, this year is looking better.

  6. Wally Fry says:

Busy! In fact, I am just catching up on days of reading, and haven’t written in a week. It’s busy good, though, been doing some real outreach involving real, physical people!
