Do I Need to Say Anything?

I was wandering around the net looking for ideas, and I saw this picture; I just had to use it!  It occurred to me that I have posted so many times in the past about pathways, stairs up and stairs down, that my first thoughts would just be too redundant, so I hesitate now…

If you’ve got a sec, just look at this picture through the eyes of faith for a bit… What do you see?

I see hope, I see our journey through this life, I see the race, the “good fight” and I see the goal and the prize for which we struggle in Christ.

What do you see?

By the way, that question need not be a rhetorical one; feel free to use the “comment” feature!

I took your advice and stared at the pic. I have new glasses so my head started to hurt.
A few things came to me which I will share.

I first thought of the bible saying you foolish and “senseless people, who have eyes but do not see”, Jeremiah 5:21 and for you Don who eyes are very bad but see…

Second, I look at the steps turning and vanishing out of sight. Allot like faith. I may not understand where the steps are going but I know where they end up while I know where they start…in His word. “but small is the gate and narrow the road that leads to life, and only a few find it”. Matthew 7:14

Then I see what I believe to be a birch tree. Birch bark contains substances of medicinal and chemical interest for headache, fungicidal for food preservative. It cleans the air and we can make boats (birch canoe). You can work the wood with a simple pocket knife and birch was used for the first maps and scrolls. Great tinder for fires to keep us warm, making roof is wigwas, steamed to bend into chairs etc, like our Lord, a Single Entity with unlimited use and purpose if we only dig little deeper, but we can see that, we are too busy…

And finally I see lush life growing in good soil and barren life on stone tread way where the path of many travel. I think of those who always follow this path never even thinking of where it’s going but thinking everyone else goes this way so it must be the right way. I also ponder about the number of people who walk this path and got tried and turned around, given up or all of the seeds that tried to grow on the path but were trampled to death.
“For many are called, but few are chosen” Matthew 22:14. “But that on the good ground are they, which in an honest and good heart, having heard the word, keep it, and bring forth fruit with patience” Luke 8:15

I am glad you asked, made me think, which in today’s world is progress.

Rays of light every step of the way. Thank you for this beautiful post!

  3. Beautiful picture! I see a path leading upward and a light to show the way…

Apart from lots of beautiful shades of green, I see a stairway to heaven (apologies to led Zeppelin) and the narrow road.

Thanks to all of you who commented! Isn’t it funny how much there is to see and how little we usually notice? Yet men and women of faith see much; it is for those of us who see and discern to share with those who as of yet may not. God’s blessing to all four of you!
