Prepare for Action

Consider that great salvation that we have received; consider how it makes the cares and problems of this world shrink to insignificance.  Ponder how great salvation is; how truly magnificent the works of the Lord are.

Therefore, prepare your minds for action; be self-controlled; set your hope fully on the grace to be given you when Jesus Christ is revealed.

1 Peter 1:13

Peter tells us what our response should be to this: Prepare for action!  Our response to the salvation we’ve received is not to sit around and ponder full-time, it is to get ready for action, to be self-controlled and to offer that same salvation to those around us.  This involves action, sharing and working to build up the body of Christ.  It involves effort on our part to become active members of the body of Christ.

Seriously, can you even imagine a greater cause to be a part of than spreading to message of salvation to others?  Can anybody think of a greater thing to have as your life’s work than the salvation of Christ being made available to our friends, neighbors and loved ones?
