Keeping Cool

I hear on the news that the weather is hot in most of the US… wow, imagine that!  It’s hot in July…

OK, all smart comments aside, it has been pretty hot recently in our area.  Lucky for me, I like it that way!

When it’s really hot in the summertime, is there anything more inviting than cool water in the evening?  So refreshing, so cool… it feels great doesn’t it?

Just think about it for a minute… cool, shade, refreshing.  Can’t you begin to hear the crickets and the sounds of the evening settling in?  What a great time to visit with our Heavenly Father in prayer, to thank Him for the glories of His creation, for our lives, our families, our salvation… and for the cool of the evening.

Most of us don’t live in the country where we can go out to a cool lake every evening, but we can still spend a little “cooling off” time with our Lord; why not do so today?

Very good advice. I know that I often neglect to pause and thank God for all the beauty I see in His creation – birds singing, beautiful blue sky, a gentle breeze on a hot day. Besides simply helping us remain thankful and humble toward God, a grateful spirit can go a long way toward keeping us content with all that we’ve blessed with in this more! more! more! world. Thanks for these wonderful words, Don.
