Moving Forward

I’d like to thank everyone who joined in our revisiting of that most excellent adventure which is Ecclesiastes; for me it was a timely little trip. Of course I find myself wondering what’s next here at the Life Project… I ponder the options.

Originally I intended to cover the only two books of the New Testament I haven’t written about here on the blog, 1 and 2 Corinthians. I’m not quite sure how this came to pass, but I still haven’t done them. Another study I’ve wanted to do here is a study of Abraham whose story is truly an amazing one, and amazingly relevant for us today, yet like 1 and 2 Corinthians, it always seems that I end up doing something else and put it off until next time.

I ponder further… what would pick up from Ecclesiastes and take us to the next step?

I keep coming back to Matthew.

In Matthew’s gospel account of Jesus, a great deal of time is spent describing what the Kingdom of Heaven/God looks like, and probably more than anywhere else, how we transition from life “under the sun” to life in the Kingdom. Yes, I keep coming back to Matthew.

So… beginning tomorrow let’s revisit that one; let’s see what the Kingdom looks like in contrast to “under the sun” and let’s see how humanity made the transition from being stuck in futility to having the option of living for Christ. Truly, if Ecclesiastes is a most excellent adventure, Matthew is a surpassing one: See you there!
