Featured Blog: Serious Thoughts Taken Not So Seriously

I mentioned the other day that I was planning a second weekly feature for later in the week, and it’s getting pretty late in the week, so,(drum roll) here it is, “Featured Blog”   These will be some of my favorite blogs, blogs that are fun, insightful, inspiring and real.  They will probably be blogs I follow and that follow this one, and all will be worthy of checking out if you aren’t familiar with them.

The first “Featured Blog” is called Serious Things Not Taken So Seriously by Katie Bortell.

I very much enjoy reading Katie’s posts almost every day because they are real. Katie writes about family, life and faith in a refreshing way that almost always makes me smile. She tells little stories about everyday life that anyone can relate to, and she does it without any pretense or affectation.  Every time it is abundantly clear that Katie loves her family and her home as she loves our Lord and His ways, as she puts it:

My faith is central to my life. Making it central to my children’s life is a goal of mine, though one not easily attained.  They are older so it’s only getting harder, though all modesty aside they are extremely good people and I have been abundantly blessed.  I have seven brothers and sisters, all older than me.

As you can see, her style is very straightforward and honest, qualities I really appreciate in writing.

I hope that each one of you will drop in and pay Katie a visit, I’m sure you’ll enjoy your “chat” Thanks Katie for all that share with us!
