Ever notice just how many people can never make up their minds about anything? They drive me crazy!
Ever notice how many people can never seem to get things done on time? They drive me crazy, too!
Why does everybody put things off, do things later, get back to you… procrastinate?! It’s just too irritating, that’s all I can say about it. Procrastinating happens when a person believes that doing something or making a decision will cause more pain and discomfort than doing nothing; so they do nothing until they see more pain and discomfort in doing nothing than doing something. I guess that’s why most people wait until the last-minute all the time, but for crying out loud, how can we operate that way?
Maybe that’s why the politicians always wait until the last-minute to rake up the big important Bill, or pass a budget… So isn’t that just great, everybody runs their lives the way politicians do! Lucky for me, I’m the only one who never does that, no sir, this kid never puts things off! I guess that just makes me special doesn’t it?
I wonder how much human potential is lost because of procrastination; it’s a scandal. I wonder how many jobs and tasks are completely messed up because everybody waits until the very last-minute to get started, and then they are in a rush and cutting corners to meet their deadlines; ridiculous! I’m sure glad that I never do that, thank you Lord for making me just that much more effective than everybody else!
Why I bet people even put off sharing their faith with their friends and neighbors because it might be a little uncomfortable, but not me!
You know what? One of these days, I’m going to get around to writing a major post about procrastination. I’ll set everybody straight, yes sir! Then they’ll see how silly they are and want to be like me, efficient, effective and timely; but not today. Today I have something else to do. There are some late notices that I’d better get to or they’ll turn off the power, and it’s starting to get kind of chilly these days, don’t want to freeze you see. But one of these days, when I get around to it, I’ll get on the job and write something really grand, so you can learn to be like me; you bet, then you’ll see… 🙂
Thanks Bargo, for the photo!

Too funny Don. If we all are honest, the bulk of what we preach and need to learn is really to ourselves. Nothing is new under the sun, so if its common to me, it’s likely common to many many more people. 😉
There might be some comfort in that!
Haha, good to know there are still efficient people out there! 😀
Thanks, I’ll give you a proper reply when I get around to it!
LOL!!!
I am so glad you wrote this article, because I have a laundry list of things for you to do…. did you do the laundry by the way!!!! I mean I have run out of a few things?????
Seriously – you really are right… we don’t like to get out of our comfort zone and by doing that we tend to stay in a neutral zone of procrastination. We see the stuff in others and it drives us crazy, but as God said, look at the plank in your eye first…. It could be huge and painful to pull out…. God bless.
There’s really no need to go rushing into laundry, and as for that plank, I’m planning on getting around to it real soon, maybe even before next summer.
“Why I bet people even put off sharing their faith with their friends and neighbors because it might be a little uncomfortable, but not me!” This makes me laugh a bit inside. My pastor 2 weeks ago called out the congregation for being scared of sharing their faith. Glad to hear you don’t feel discomfort in your faith.
Hey what the heck, everybody thinks I’m crazy already, what have I got to loose? Seriously, good for your Pastor, I wish more would do that. I may well feel a little uncomfortable some times in sharing, but the though of my friends, family and well just about anybody passing away without Christ is much worse than a little uncomfortable, it’s sickening!

So that’s what hit me!
