Don’t Forget this Sunday!

Don’t forget to check in this Sunday to Sunday Class Notes right here at Life Reference!  That’s when we will begin our look at the Olivet Discourse of Jesus.  What is the Olivet Discourse, you ask?  It is the major prophetic passage of Jesus that is found in Matthew chapters 24 and 25, a passage that is considered by many to be the most difficult passage in the entire New Testament.  It is certainly an unusual passage in that it is the only sustained passage where Jesus speaks like an Old Testament Prophet…

In the picture above, you can see a modern-day view of the backdrop for the discourse.  From the Mount of Olives, you have a panorama of amazing proportions as you look at the Temple Mount and the entire city of Jerusalem.  Obviously, in Jesus’ day, there was no Dome of the Rock on the Temple Mount, instead would have been the massive Jewish Temple, the place considered to be the dwelling place of God on earth.

Can we understand what Jesus said about this panorama today without getting a Ph. D.?

When you follow these posts, I think you will see that the most difficult of passages can be easily understood with a little effort.  Not only should you get this passage, but you’ll also have the chance to learn some methods of study to help you understand many others as well.

I think this one will be worth your time and consideration… see you Sunday. The post will publish at 7am EDT. Grab your Bible and join us!

Hwy, how’s that for a bit of hype?
