Over the last week or ten days, there’s been a bit of Fall in the air in my area. The morning news now has the harvest report, the mornings are cool, baseball is almost in the playoffs, football has started, and we’re supposed to have our first frost this weekend. Soon it will be cold and we’ll need to get out the snow shovels again!
The summer has been a strange one, rather too dry and hot in the upper Midwest and if you’re strange like I am, that sounds just about perfect. The truth is, I’d just prefer that summer last a while longer, but that just isn’t likely to happen…
Well, I’ll just have to be OK with that, Fall is my second favorite season! After it’s over then I can start my annual “can’t wait for summer” period for about six months. There is a time for every season under Heaven as the Bible says, and the time for summer is over.
The time for the glorious beauty of Fall is about here. More than any other season, Fall is a time for reflection and giving thanks. Thank you Lord for a wonderful summer, and thank you for your autumn artwork!
