As most of you know, my wife and I have recently moved into another house with my 94-year-old Mom. Well, it isn’t any great surprise that this requires quite a bit of adjustment for all of us, and one thing I have to get used to is the fact that she likes to have the TV on quite a lot. Thank goodness, she doesn’t watch soap operas and stupid game shows; yep that’s something to be thankful for. Yet this habit still drives me a bit crazy: She always has a certain cable news channel on… really loud.
Trump made a speech: OMG!!
Trump said this: OMG!!
Trump said that: OMG!!
Trump was here: Oh No!!
Trump was there: Oh My!!
Trump is a genius: Oh Wow!!
Trump is “unhinged”: Oh Heavens!!
My favorite of the week is the huge news story that the gossip in one newsroom among reporters is that Trump is insane. I had no idea that journalism school gave out degrees in psychology…
Gossip = news.
Oh Mercy!!
I don’t mean to make light of the serious things going on all over the globe, but as I hear this … (can I use the ‘crap’ in a blog post?)… silliness… I have Solomon’s words ringing in my ears…
Meaningless… futile… vanity!
I hope you have a great weekend!

oh my, brings back fond??? memories. Enjoy the ride…remember this truth: life is fleeting, choose wisely that which is eternally significant. Hope you have a man cave to which you can retreat. 🙂
Ah… but then a Man never retreats!! 🙂
I feel your pain. I was on vacation in the US earlier this month and American television was my news source. Or would have been if there had been any news. I dispaired of finding any coverage that wasn’t centred around your president, though I am sure there must be somethig else newsworthy that happens in your country occasionally, and possibly other places around the globe also. You’d never know it from what I saw on “the most trusted name in news.” Most trusted? I guess they have never head of the BBC. Such parochialism does not benefit your country – but I imagine you already knew that.
LOL. If accuracy was of any interest, they’s be saying the least trusted… Happily we do have the BBC World Service, and I switch to it on those rare occasions when I can get my hands on the remote! 🙂 Imagine: Actual news that isn’t gossip.
It wouldn’t bother me if the news coverage were blind (like Justice). Ever time someone from the current admin resigns it’s a failure of his administration, and a problem with Trump himself. Yet, when the same thing happened in the Obama admin the news in the Huffington Post was quite different:
“White House Staff Upheaval Actually Quite Normal, Say Former Bush, Clinton Officials”
Yes, great observation
This is why I get most of my news by reading it. The papers are biased, but the broadcast media covers the same boring story to death.
Boy do they ever!
