The Life Project is an award free zone. Oh, don't get me wrong, I appreciate the thought more than you can imagine, but for me it's a matter of conviction, the Lord leading me... or maybe managing me! Your visits, "likes" comments and "follows" are more than enough... really!
That’s what I’m talking about…
Hi Don, for those of us who live outside the US is there any chance of you putting a caption on your wonderful photos telling us which part of the country you are in? Or what flower you are showing? I love your pics, and would be interested to learn more about your country by having a bit of info. Just something like New York skyline, or Kansas sunrise would be great! Just a request and a suggestion! God bless you
Well Mandy, I don’t know the first thing about flowers, but I can label other things if you like… you might need to remind me if I forget. 🙂
This picture if the view from the porch of Montpelier, taken on January 1, 2014. Montpelier was the Virginia home of James Madison, our 4th president and the “Father of the Constitution”. In the background you can see the distant Blue Ridge Mountains.
An interesting tidbit for non-US readers… One day in 1814, First Lady Dolly Madison was about the serve a fine luncheon to her White House guests, when an alarm sounded throughout Washington, DC: The British were invading the city! She saved the famous Gilbert Stuart painting of George Washington that hangs in the White House to this day… and ran for her life. When British troops arrived at the White House moments later and discovered the table set for luncheon, The officers enjoyed Mrs. Madison’s lunch, drank to her health, and burned the White House to the ground!
