A September 11th Reflection

Arlington 9413 017

How long O Lord will your children misuse the creativity you have given them to make new ways to kill?  How long O Lord will hate and violence reign upon this earth?

How long O Lord will our sons be called upon to make war? How long O Lord will men worship a lie?

We know dear Lord that our enemies are not flesh and blood, we know you would not have us return hate for hate; how long must we endure in this age of evil? We know dear Lord that your way is the way of love, we know that we are to love our enemies; how long O Lord will they be allowed to oppress those who love peace?

We know our reward is great, that your mercy is greater, that your love is the greatest of all and we believe your promises. We will continue along your paths of love all the days of our lives, and we ask for your strength to sustain us, secure in the knowledge that your justice will reign on that great day when you appear.

Come quickly dear Lord and bring the day when only your will is done on earth, just as it is in Heaven.
