Yesterday’s edition of my Midwestern adventure was a good one; we discussed the reasons why God has given us spiritual gifts… and then focused on the gift of tongues as Paul discussed in 1 Corinthians 14. It’s interesting how things look sometimes when we view them in light of God’s purposes, rather than simply from our own views.

The Gift of Tongues: it has never crossed my mind the number of languages across the globe we all speak to Him. So the reverse of that “gift” makes – for the first time – perfect and absolute sense! The “private prayer language” has always “muddied the waters” in any understanding I have ever come close to. The ability to have others understand in their own mother-tongue makes it much simpler – but equally “wow!!”.
