I’m off this afternoon for Illinois, where I will be teaching Spiritual Gifts for the month of February; Sunday sermons and Wednesday evening classes through March 1. If you are going to be in the Quad City area of Illinois and Iowa (i.e. Davenport, IA, Moline, IL area) you are welcome to drop by Milan Christian Church. Sunday starting times are 9:00 and 10:30 and Wednesday is 6:00 pm. For location and directions here’s a link to their website. Should you be able to drop by, please be sure to say hello, it would be great to put a blog and a person together!
As for blogging during this time, I’m planning on at least one post every day; maybe more, so don’t forget to check in here. I’ll also be posting about the experience as time permits, and who knows? That might just be the best part. I’ll also be checking my mail and so on, so it will be more or less “business as usual” here at The Life Project.
In addition, I’ll try to arrange for links to podcasts of the classes for those of you who might be curious to follow along; I am expecting a great class. Anyway, I’ll have to let you know if I can work that out.
So, I’ll be off for Union Station a little later on for the “Capitol Limited” which is scheduled to arrive in Chicago tomorrow morning, where I have a six-hour layover, and then another train west from there to Galesburg, and if I am lucky, somebody will pick me up. The layover isn’t a bad thing for me, since it will allow me to visit my son who is finishing up his degree in Chicago…
Oh no; I’m on a train overnight, and don’t arrive until tomorrow! …and we have discovered that tomorrow never comes: Great, just great, I’ll be stuck on the train forever!
Here, let me rephrase that: I’m scheduled to arrive Friday, and when I arrive, it will still be Today.
Much better.
Now you might ask why I’m taking the train for 20 plus hours when I could fly and be there in a couple of hours. Well, it’s like this: I’m just as much of a 10-year-old around trains as I am around planes. If you have the time, trains are way cheaper, you see more, the seats are way more comfortable and all you need is a Kindle with a Netflix app and you’re good to go. They all have WiFi and every seat has a plug-in… and you can always use the phone… and of course, you skip all of the hassles and nonsense of the airport. So, off I go!

The Lord bless you and use you in the coming months.
Thanks!
Have a wonderful and fruitful trip, enjoy the trains… we’ll be prayin’ for ya’all. (wonderful word. English NEEDS a first person plural!)
Grace — LM
Thanks LM; I agree about the word and the need for it!
Safe travels!
Thank you! First half done and I survived!
Trains rule. I used to take one to go see my dad when I was a kid. Awesome. Loved to walk from front to back and back and forth.
May God bless your trip.
Thanks Wally. I think they (trains) are loads of fun!
Have a gentle and loving today ((hug))
Thanks Paul; you too!
Are there spiritual gifts just for the month of February?
The series just happens to be taking place in February (and March 1) but the gifts are for all time 🙂
to be sure!
Good on ya, Don. May our beloved Saviour use this opportunity to pull more into His kingdom.
Yes! That’s my hope and prayer as well!
have a wonderful trip! I agree with you about train travel. Though I usually fly, I have taken a couple of train trips as well, to Michigan and to Washington State and it was fun. Wish I was closer to the area where you are going to be. It would be fun to attend at least one of your classes and have the opportunity to meet you in person. Praying for travel safety and a great trip for you.
That would be nice, but a bit much this time of year. Maybe “one of these days” I’ll be up in your neck of the woods… in summer!
Safe travels in the adventure !
Thanks!
Safe travels, my friend. I hope your lessons get recorded for posterity, and for current listeners as well. God bless.
Thank you. Well I made it here in one piece; that’s a start!
