I took this picture yesterday evening while we were in the landing pattern at Baltimore Washington International, and I think I’ll title it “God is a Baseball Fan” (like me).
Yes, we returned yesterday evening after a very nice trip to California visiting family. I had hoped to be all caught up with bogging by now, but due to a very frustrating day trying to get things done that should only take minutes, I’m only now sitting down at my computer. Wanna hear a great story…? OK, since you insist…
I need to get a new Passport for a little trip we’re taking in November. OK, true, I should have done this sooner, but everything seemed OK. We checked out the website and discovered that we could go to a certain post office between 10 and 4 to turn the stuff in, and off we went. When we were walking in, we noticed that right on the front door there was a sign that said “Passport Desk hours 10 to 4 M-F” Great!
When we went inside, there was the passport desk with a big “closed” sign on it. The nice postal employee at the main desk called out, “Oh, we don’t do that here any more, but here’s a list of numbers you can call for an appointment somewhere else.”
Appointment, that’s not what the website says!
We started calling, appointments are available all through the month of October! Lucky for me, one of them will squeeze me in Monday, and since SWMBO will be back at work, I only have to walk 5.8 miles each way to get this done…
Therefore, you can just bet that Monday will be a very rainy day.
You’d think that the United States Government could find someone to post accurate information on their official website, not to mention on their doors… particularly the agency that is always telling the rest of the world how to do things.
Yes, I know, I’m really too much of an optimist sometimes. 🙂
Naturally our next stop was the DMV… a story for another time.

God loves baseball!
🙂
Welcome home Don. great photo!
Thanks Elaine!
I fully understand the incorrect times posting. I had gone to the DMV to renew my car registration only to find out they closed and no longer do it there. They had stopped almost a year before. The fun of our government!
Yep, those errands are always a thrill!
Yes, Don! Doesn’t the bible start by saying, “In the big inning God created the heavens and the earth” … or something like that?
Yep, I think it says something along those lines 🙂
How do I make my blog an award free zone?
I just wrote a short post and added the text “Award Free” to my page
