A Friday Reflection

I was going to post another installment of our ongoing “Case Study” today, but then I thought maybe we could take a little break from that and I could share a thought or two of a more personal nature.  I hope that’s OK with everyone.

Every so often, I like to just say “Thank you” to all of you who stop by and visit this blog, I appreciate each time that you view what I’ve posted.  It’s humbling, really, so thank you!

To those who “like” and comment, thank you!  Your encouragement means so much!  It means more than I could probably describe, in fact.  And, thank you to those who “follow,” what can I say?

I also would like to share another reflection today.  It follows from what I’ve just said, I suppose…

There is something amazing going on here. More and more I’m seeing it, discerning it, noticing.  A community of faith, a community of love, a community of Christ.  We don’t all agree on every point, we don’t all have the same backgrounds or doctrinal orientations, and we don’t all approach our walk the same way.  We don’t all come from the same country, culture or perspective, and we encompass all ethnicities, but we share something in common that transcends all else: We all yearn for God’s presence, God’s truth, God’s light.  We all desire to serve Him and His children everywhere, and we are united in his love.

This is the Body of Christ.  This is The Church.  This is “Purpose.”

We all know that we aren’t perfect, that we are not infallible and that we fall short of His standard all too often. None of us is holy or righteous in His sight in or by our own power, yet we all know that in Him our sins are taken away and we can approach the throne of grace with confidence in spite of our imperfections. As we seek closer relationship with our Lord, we encourage one another, are able to work together to advance His purpose and we are able to set aside whatever differences we may have for His sake, and we all ask why so many of our church leaders can’t do the same.

Yes my friends, something amazing is going on here, and I would like most of all to thank all of you for allowing me to participate along with you in”amazing.”

Don, the lord is amazing! I bumped into this post this morning – 25th March – for the first time! And was touched by your words within. I had no right seeing this post as I read in chronological order – and am on the “todays” days’ batches.

So thank you. Thank the lord!

(and I am not going to try and figure out how this morning’s happy event happened)

    🙂
