Have you ever had the sense of being too small to make a difference? Maybe you felt like you were just not up to the task in some way? Maybe you’ve felt this way in church, like others know more, that you were just not ready to do or say anything because you’re too…. too… something?
I know I have felt that way.
The funny thing is, if you are too weak or too small somehow, you are exactly who God is most likely to use! Yes, I know, other people know more, or speak better, but you are the one God will use to glorify Himself! Now, I don’t know about you, but I think this is not only amazing, but awesome.
When Jesus called His disciples, did He go to a university and call the greatest scholars? Did He call the king, or Caesar? Did He call a great and powerful general?
No, He called simple folk; fisherman, workmen… And then He gave those simple, regular guys God’s revelation to Mankind!
The one possible exception to this took place when Saul of Tarsus was called to follow Him, but then Saul (Paul) was given a weakness, a thorn in the flesh, which turned out to be his great difficulty in seeing, so that God alone would be glorified by his work.
But he said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.”Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ’s power may rest on me.
2 Corinthians 12:9
All we need is God’s grace; that is sufficient for us. Then, as we do our part in building His Body, God alone will be glorified by our work. So then, as I see it, it’s time for us to stop worrying about how inadequate we are and get to it, so that some will be saved and God will get the glory.

Thanks – timely and appreciated reminder 🙂

Excellent reminder, even for those of us in the thick of a ministry need to know its all about God working through us, we of our own efforts are never enough. blessings!
I’ve often thought that those of us in a ministry need to keep this in mind more than most, I know I need to!
