Wonders

Sometimes it’s not easy to keep quiet, indeed it seems like the very creation around us is shouting God’s praises.  Standing on this hilltop was one of those times.  There was a marker a few feet from where this photo was taken the other day, a marker about a cavalry raid made through this valley by Union troopers in 1865, and while those things are normally of great interest to me, on this particular occasion my thoughts were elsewhere.

A verse drifted across my mind:

For since the creation of the world God’s invisible qualities—his eternal power and divine nature—have been clearly seen, being understood from what has been made, so that people are without excuse.

Romans 1:20

God’s creation is an awesome thing, and when a person has a view like this, even someone like me who can’t see very well, it’s not easy to hold back the praises… and why should we?  God’s handiwork is inspiring, humbling and surely is almost like meeting Him face to face.  Yet most people miss it.  The group of bikers that were to my left when I took this shot, were not talking about the glory of God; beer seemed more to their interest, and maybe that is the case for many.  How sad it was that they weren’t taking in the majesty right before them.,.

May all of us never fail to see His hand at work, and to give Him the praise that is His due!
