A lot to offer

Cars

The other night I was at a celebration in a church for members who were about to graduate from high school and one of the points that came up was how much the world has to offer a young person both for good and for ill.  I had occasion to give this a thought, remembering what it was like to graduate from high school…

When it was my turn, I was really glad to be done with high school; I never liked it very much.  I remember having the impression at the time that everything was spread out in front of me; so many choices, so many opportunities.  People would ask where I was going to college, what I would study, what I wanted to do in life.  The possibilities seemed endless.

It is certainly true that the world has much to offer.  Yet when you really think about it, all of the amazing possibilities that this world has to offer are only things of this world.  We are called to a much higher calling than careers, positions, money and knowledge, for we are called to be ambassadors of Christ!

Will anyone remind our young people of this fact?

Oh to be young again ans skip the part about being “somebody” in the world and go straight to being “somebody” in Christ!
