I don’t know about you, but I have no trouble finding things to worry about. The weather, the finances, jobs, family, crime, the economy…
It’s natural enough for us to be concerned about things, particularly when life hits a rough spot in the road, but we need to keep things in perspective. Jesus spoke of this:
So do not worry, saying, ‘What shall we eat?’ or ‘What shall we drink?’ or ‘What shall we wear?’ For the pagans run after all these things, and your heavenly Father knows that you need them. But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well.
Matthew 6:31-33; larger context Matt. 6:25-34
As we seek first His Kingdom, we place ourselves in a position of doing His will for our lives. Doing His will and not being distracted by the cares of this world is an act of faith and obedience for which we will be rewarded by our Father in Heaven who sees to it that our needs are met and that we are filled with His peace. truly there is no greater satisfaction in life than being fully in God’s will!
The only real question is do we trust Him enough?
