Looking Around

Yesterday I had a rare chance just to go out and look around.  I wasn’t on a mission, I wasn’t on my way somewhere, I was just looking around; who ever gets to do that?

It was a glorious Fall day, a little cool and breezy, and there wasn’t a cloud in the sky…

What I noticed was that I was walking around in a postcard or in a calendar picture of Autumn wonderland scenes… and I hadn’t left Rock Island: Amazing.

The leaves were blowing in the breeze, trees varied from green to bright red or gold and the glory of God was all over the landscape. There is nothing profound or terribly insightful in any of this, for it is just the changing of the seasons, and that seems to happen every so often, yet t is simply fun to just slow down every once in a while to take notice.

It occurs to me that I write about this sort of thing fairly often here, and I hope it isn’t overly repetitive or boring for you dear reader, but can I encourage you often enough to slow down and notice what God is up to?

He is probably doing a lot more in our lives and the lives of those we know and love that just changing season.  It is even more amazing to slow down a bit and take notice of how lives around us are being changed by relationship with Jesus Christ, in fact it can be quite humbling.  Our God is awesome and amazing, and just taking a chance to notice what He’s up to will have us giving Him out thanks and praise in no time.
