When we look around at the world we live in, it isn’t easy sometimes to see the glory within us, more often we see people behaving badly. If we look more closely however, we might see something different, for there are many among us who are quietly reflecting the love of Jesus Christ for anyone who wants to notice.
Often we are caught up in the troubles and worries of life, and I am certainly not immune from this, but what are our problems and earthly sufferings compared to the glory that is within us? What can this world do that would dampen the glory that will soon be revealed that is within us? This may seem like a couple of strange questions, but consider what Paul wrote:
I consider that our present sufferings are not worth comparing with the glory that will be revealed in us. The creation waits in eager expectation for the sons of God to be revealed. For the creation was subjected to frustration, not by its own choice, but by the will of the one who subjected it, in hope that the creation itself will be liberated from its bondage to decay and brought into the glorious freedom of the children of God.
Romans 8:18-21
Funny thing, as I sit here this morning it occurs to me that a guy could write an entire book on this brief passage! For this post, suffice it to say that the whole of creation yearns for the day that this glory will be revealed in us, the day when it will become obvious that God, through the Holy Spirit is within us and when all sin, death and decay is taken away. When this happens, we will be transformed and discover first hand all that it is to be “sons of God.”
Happy Monday everyone! I don’t know about you, but Mondays are always better for me after I consider these things.
