Therefore, my dear brothers, stand firm. Let nothing move you. Always give yourselves fully to the work of the Lord, because you know that your labor in the Lord is not in vain.

1 Corinthians 15:58

Stand firm!  We are not to let anything move us from the truth that Jesus Christ has conquered death and prepared the way for us to have eternal life.

In yesterday’s post, we looked at the verses just before Paul’s “therefore”; the verses that lead to this conclusion.  They tell of His victory over death and sin. Today’s verse is the response to this great fact.

We are to stand firm in our faith and always give ourselves to His work.  We are to put Him first!  The work we do for the Lord is never in vain, for it produces eternal results both for ourselves and for others.  It is the very work of the Gospel by which we have been saved, and by which we may have a part in the salvation of others.  What greater endeavor is there in all the world?
