Who will pay the bill?

I always like to see my bills with a stamp like this on them… PAID!

I know people who go through life worrying about their outstanding balances, late fees and interest due.  Boy, seems like a lot to have to worry about!  I also know people who go through life with worries about the things they have done.  They have the idea that when the time comes, they are going to be in real serious trouble.  One of these guys even told me about an experience that he had after he was struck by lightning.

As the guy told the story, he was rushed to the hospital where he was on the table with no vital signs for some time; in excess of ten minutes I think he said before he all of a sudden woke up to the shock of those in the room.  He said that during that time he had been in a place where he was being judged on the way he had lived (he had been a really bad guy) and where he had been found deserving of eternal punishment.  According to his story God sent him back to clean up his act.

I will reserve comment with regard to my thoughts on the story, that isn’t where I’m headed… exactly.  This particular guy was working very earnestly to make up for the bad things he had done…

The one thing he didn’t want to buy into was forgiveness through Jesus Christ, for he felt that he could only get to Heaven by his own works…

How sad. I expect that if his story was accurate, say as opposed to a dream or something, when the time comes he will have the same result as last time!

Jesus Christ has given His life to pay the price for our sins.

For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.

Yes sir, I like to have “paid in full” on my bills, especially this one, for there is no other way to eternal life.
