How will I live?

“Every morning I will put to silence
   all the wicked in the land;
I will cut off every evildoer
   from the city of the LORD.”

(Psalm 101:8)

So is David telling us to travel all over America each morning to silence every voice that we deem to be wicked?

Yeah, right!

Obviously this is not what is being said here, and it also doesn’t mean you should run all over town!  What he’s telling us is that we tune out wickedness and evil.  Just because someone is talking doesn’t mean that we need to listen and absorb what is being said.

By cutting off every evildoer from the city of God means to cut off evil from your life and the lives of your family; protect your loved ones.  We don’t need to attack anybody to do that normally, just shut the door and don’t let them in, whether that means literally shutting the door, or shutting off the TV.

God gave all of us free will. Some use this to do good by their own choice, and some use this to do evil by their own choice.  It is God’s decision when to pass judgment, not ours.  However it is our decision whether or not to follow; choose to follow God and His ways.
